Ski Club - GB CP Helmet Review

"CP's latest all in one helmet has an enticing and non-compromising style. Its elegant exterior hides a state-of-the-art, sophisticated ventilation system made from highly functional materials that provide a perfect combination of breath-ability and water and wind resistance."

WHAT ALF SAYS: CP is a Swiss brand, new to the UK, specialising in helmets with integrated visors. As you might expect being Swiss, build-quality and attention-to-detail is second to none, hence the price (some CP helmets come with cashmere linings or embedded with Swarovski crystals).

There’s a choice of visors with all CP helmets – ours had an orange-silver mirror lens; these can be changed quickly and easily and there’s also a photochromic option for all-round use. Fit is excellent – the two-layer face foam sits warm and snug against your cheeks, you get a gin-clear view through the polycarbonate, abrasion-resistant lens and superb peripheral vision. What’s more, it has an OTG fit, so you can wear the visor with glasses underneath.

As for the helmet, it was one of the most comfortable I’ve worn. The shell has two adjustable front vents along with a further 26 mesh covered vents, plus a breathable lining for great temperature control, with the fit adjustable by a rear dial.

The removable ear pads are supremely soft and warm, and the ratchet system for the chin strap ensures a perfect fit. Yes, the CP Cuma is expensive, but both quality and design are excellent and as they say, you get what you pay for…

For: Great fit, great build, great design
